 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Purchased a 1/2 cord of wood. Well seasoned and the correct amount I paid for, wasn’t shorted! Tri-town was quick to fill the order the next day. Great communication. They called the day of to confirm the delivery and again when they were running a little late. Firewood was cash only, but they specified if I had to run out I could stash the money somewhere and let them know where to find it. Driver was considerate to confirm where I wanted the wood dumped before doing so.

The Cost:

Everything’s expensive now so I paid a bit more than I did a few years ago with another local company ($230 total-12/11/23 - $175 half cord, $55 delivery charge) but they were out of wood. Was lucky enough to call Tri-Town at the right time! It was $350 with a $10 diesel cost they were transparent about. $360 total, cash. I’m sure someone out there will think that’s too expensive but it was timely, great service, and now we’re stocked for another few years.

For anyone considering buying firewood as a casual/not for home-heat use:

That’s what we do with our 1/2 cord. Fall-winter fireplace use, especially on holidays. Last 1/2 cord I got lasted us 3 years so the wood burns better and better as it seasons. If you’re thinking of getting a 1/2 cord or even 1/4, I would. Pays for itself over the years by burning way better than the terrible $7 bags you get at the store I couldn’t stand to see my folks buy any longer haha.

Stack it up off the ground. You can usually get pallets from behind any grocery store near their dumpster. Use a few cinder blocks to elevate the pallets and you’re good to go. This set-up is a bit wide, I’ve seen people do a single long stack against a fence, wall, whatever. That works too! YouTube university will give you a good idea. We use a tarp too but I wouldn’t say that’s necessary.

For everyone who has ever bought little bags of dirt or mulch from the big box stores: this is way better. Calling and arranging delivery is easy, picking the right product is easy, and the drivers are fantastic. An employee called me first thing on Monday morning to verify and collect payment over the phone (paying cash upon delivery was an option as well). The driver arrived on time and dropped the mulch exactly where I requested.
